Serum based biomarkers in cardiology have improved over the past years especially as we come to understand and discover more information regarding the pathophysiology of cardiovascular disease. The current advances in laboratory technology has elevated these markers from just diagnosis to also predicting risk and prognosis and even guiding therapy. The discussions will be on emerging biomarkers and Lp-A2, particularly its use, latest development, and recommendations.
